Biking Around Amelia Island

 photo sarah-hello_zps81f8f64b.jpg
Today I thought I'd share with you some of the pictures I took while riding around Amelia Island's Historic Downtown. I really just love the island..especially the atmosphere of the shops on Centre St., the cute houses downtown, and the harbor. Even though I got gross and sweaty and frustrated that I couldn't pull off Audrey Hepburn's iconic bike picture (#firstworldproblems), I had so much fun!
Steps up to an art gallery that we also visit…cute and quirky!

does that not look angelic?

This was taken the day before bike riding, but it's in our favorite ice cream shop downtown, so it's relevant

an old abandoned dock and shrimp boat

My favorite house

Love the white house, blue shutters, and red porch furniture!

and old Spanish church that we love

St. Michael's..the catholic school my children will attend #dreamlife

We visit St. Peter's cemetery every year. I just love the peaceful atmosphere of it and we like to visit the graves and imagine what these people's lives would've been like way back when. When I die, I'd like to be buried here, under the old oaks draped in Spanish moss.

We even found a geocache!

Later on in the week I'll share some more snaps from my other vacation adventures, but that's it for now! Happy Monday!

Where is your favorite spot to vacation?

  2. So beautiful! It looks so quaint and peaceful. I've never considered visiting a cemetery and thinking of people's lives, but I love that. It makes life even more fragile.
It all looked like a wonderful adventure! I'm looking forward to picking up a bike and getting some miles in!
