Fall Favorites

As many of y'all know, I'm leaving next week (5 days!!) for England for my semester abroad. I am nervous, excited, anxious, prepared, etc for my trip, but in the midst of packing, I thought I'd go through some of my fall favorites with y'all! Obviously, it won't be cool enough to wear these things in the South for quite some time, but luckily, England is already in the 60s! I'm basing the two main outfits on my "plane outfit" and my "first day in London outfit!"

Fall Favorites

It is no surprise how much I love leggings and a big cozy sweater. It is my absolute favorite outfit in the fall time and one I will be sporting practically everyday for class. Both sweaters that you see above are from J. Crew and I cannot wait to wear them. On a normal class day, I'd wear my Tory Burch riding boots, but I also included bean boots for those chilly rainy days.
For a bit of a more polished but still cozy look, I'm pairing my mixed media J. Crew sweater with my distressed jeans. I used to hate distressed jeans, but I just recently got the Rockstar pair from Old Navy and I'm very much in love with them. They still look nice because they're a darker wash, but the distressing gives them a much more laid back casual look. I love the pop of leopard in the loafers, too! Loafers are a staple in my wardrobe and I think leopard makes them a bit more fun.
Do I even need to talk about how much I love the J. Crew quilted vests? I think I've beaten that dead horse enough, but, if you want a more wallet friendly version, Mint Julep and Old Navy have incredibly similar versions!
That Burberry quilted is my dream. I borrowed a friend's last year for the Ole Miss vs. LSU game and fell in love. It's very comfortable, but still tailored so it looks very sophisticated…even with leggings. (;
I bought a men's quilted field jacket from Target in March for our cruise and I absolutely loved it. It was long enough to cover my butt and had tons of pockets to hold everything, but the Brit in me wants the real thing!
I'm actually growing my nails out for the first time ever (!!!!) right now, so I'm very much looking forward to painting them with the new fall nail colors. One I'm really loving is Essie's Burgundies. However, before I leave I'll be painting my nails with my all time fav, Butter London's All Hail the Queen…it just makes sense right before I leave for London!
As for accessories, my Tory Burch crossbody is just too easy. It goes with any outfit, will be perfect to just throw on for nights out, shopping days in the city, and will be be helpful in not getting pick pocketed. I'm on a big tortoiseshell kick lately and I think it's such a good pattern for fall when things like seersucker and all my pastels are out. I recently got a tortoiseshell headband from J. Crew and it goes so well with the navys, deep purples, and browns in my fall wardrobe. Those sunnies are perfection and only $20!
I like to wear lipstick, but I don't do the summery peaches and neons, and it's rare for me to do a bold red lip (I'm just too scared!), so the fall is my lipstick prime. Anything with a cranberry tint is right up my alley and the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks are great. They're moisturizing for those wintery chapped lips, have awesome color payoff and longevity, but they're also pretty cheap!

What is your favorite fall outfit? Are you excited for cooler weather or wish sumer would never end?

  1. I've been lusting after a Burberry quilted jacket for the longest time as well!
    I hope you have the greatest time in best friend is studying abroad there this semester as well, so it's safe to say I'm completely jealous of you two, but I can't wait to hear all about your adventures in your posts!

    1. Thank you so much! Yes, I cannot even wait for all of the posts full of snaps from my travels! I'm very nervous, but excited too!

      xo, Sarah
